We are looking for a talented financial analyst to help drive our company’s growth. This position will work directly within our Business Development function, reporting directly to the senior leadership of this group.
A. Financial Underwriting and Pro-forma Analysis
Gather and review market data to create detailed hotel pro-forma operational and financial projections for the purpose assessing business and investment opportunities
Perform financial analysis relating to potential new-build hotel projects similar to above, but to include complex deal structuring analysis relating to different potential capital structures and sources, and project schedules and budgets, for proposed hotel projects.
B. Preparation of Presentation Materials
Work with the senior leadership team to prepare high-quality presentation materials describing hotel investment opportunities for both internal and external audiences. These materials will typically include sections on the market, key financial drivers and metrics, key operational metrics, rooms mix, revenue management, marketing, sales and capital requirements relating to hotel investment opportunities. Work will involve coordinating input from various functional areas within the company, including marketing and operations, and taking the lead on the overall drafting and preparation of the materials.
Work with Evolution’s in-house marketing agency, Second Wave, to ensure company’s various presentation materials are up to date. Assist with preparing any other necessary materials for company pitch meetings.
C. Deal Tracking, Internal Coordination & General Support
Evolution uses sophisticated deal tracking and customer relationship management (CRM) tools as part of its business development function. Work will include taking a lead role in updating the software for any significant milestones on individual deals. The analyst will have the primary responsibility for ensuring our database is up to date and accurate, and that requested reports are produce in a timely fashion.
The analyst will provide overall general support to the company’s Business Development team, as well as occasional support to other members of the senior leadership team, which can include market research, data gathering and compilation, reporting on company portfolio and statistics, and other day-to-day activities related to the business development function and company growth.
Additional support will include occasional assistance with meeting coordination, travel planning, and general overall support with various ad hoc requests that arise from time to time.
Solid understanding of financial modeling, pro-forma and investment analysis with 1-4 years of experience in a hospitality, real estate development, private equity or i-bank setting
Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
Ability to build effective network of cross-functional relationships and influence peers
Strong oral and written communication skills across a broad range of audiences
Critical analysis and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Experience preparing material for review by senior management
Must be willing to learn and grow in the position and with the company, and desire to work as part of a team
Ability to work well with others in a collaborative setting and also “fly solo” as needed
Prefer degree in Finance, Real Estate, or Hospitality
