The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Finance Coordinator to join our Finance crew! Seeking a candidate with hospitality experience for group billing.
The Finance Coordinator is responsible for all finance activities related to accurate revenue reporting and tax balancing for three business entities on a daily basis.
Summary of essential job functions
• Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
• Organize, secure, and maintain all files and records in accordance with document retention and confidentiality policies and procedures.
• Record, store, and/or analyze information using property software.
• Maintain accurate electronic spreadsheets for financial and accounting data.
• Complete period-end closing procedures and reports as specified and assigned
• Prepare, maintain, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or reports and tables as assigned.
• Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
• Generate finance/accounting reports from computer system as needed.
• Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals, ledgers, and/or computers.
• Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year experience in a hotel accounting position, preferred but not required.
• An operational knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting programs
• Knowledge of OPERA PMS and/or Micros POS preferred.
Skills / Ability to:
• Participate in the creation of an enjoyable work environment
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office and strong Excel skills)
• Ability and desire to acquire extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services and facilities
• Multi-task in a high-traffic environment
• Perform numerical operations using basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
• Read, comprehend and write simple instructions and/or short correspondence and memos
