The Opportunity
We’re currently looking for a Painter To join our Carneros Resort and Spa Team.
ESSENTIAL PURPOSE: To ensure luxury resort standards of safety, function, and aesthetic appeal for all resort buildings, furnishings, and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• To understand and respond to all guests needs in timely and professional manner.
• To satisfactorily perform routine painting maintenance and preventive maintenance throughout the property.
• To be completely familiar with standards established by the Director of Facilities.
• To maintain all areas in safe and sanitary conditions.
• To apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to equipment, buildings, and or other structures using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
• Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal for finish coats.
• Cover surfaces with drop cloths or making tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
• Fill cracks, holes and joints with caulk, putty, plaster or other fillers using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll and sprayers. Safely stores and labels all materials.
• To ensure proper handling , storage, and labeling of all hazardous chemical used by engineering staff, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions and avoid injury to self and others.
• To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment at all times.
• To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
• To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to read, speak and write English and be able to follow simple verbal directions. Able to perform simple calculations, required when measuring materials or spaces. Experienced with basic hand tools, carpentry and power tools used to perform assigned duties. Must have a valid driver’s license for the state of California. Must be able to distinguish colors. Trained in air conditioning and refrigeration, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems is preferred. Resort or hotel experience is a plus.
SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Safety-minded. High quality standards for production and service. Courteous, friendly manner and team player. Customer service focus. Able to work with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works primarily outdoors. Works in all areas inside and outside of the property. Exposed to weather conditions en-route to and while performing work.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands and walks moderate to long distances throughout shift. Bends, stoops, and reaches to perform routine job tasks. Strength, flexibility, and good reflexes needed to operate staging and mechanized material moving devices, and to operate power-driven machinery. Regularly required to handle and move objects weighing up to 80 lbs. over short distances.
