THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are currently looking for a Lead Spa Therapist to join the Azure Spa team at the Riviera Palm Springs.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Under the guidance of the Spa Director, and within the limits of the Hotel Policies, ensure that all operational procedures, codes of conduct and standards of appearance are adhered to by all staff.
To create a happy and motivated team and ensure smooth operations of the treatment areas at all times.
To assist the Spa Director in the recruitment, induction, development and appraisal of all spa therapy staff, ensuring that the service provided maintains high professional standards.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct trainings, demonstrations and presentations as required.
Coordinate with Spa Director to ensure proper induction and training of all therapists is carried out.
To inform the Spa Director of any complaints regarding the facility, recommending amendments as necessary.
Responsible for opening/closing procedures when on duty.
To attend hotel meetings as required.
Be available and receptive to feedback from guests and staff.
To set an example at all times in standards of professionalism, attitude and appearance.
Cover reception when necessary.
To assist the Spa Director in the recruitment, training, discipline, development and appraisal of all therapists and spa attendants.
To ensure that employees meet the company profile at all times.
Motivate and communicate with all staff. Oversee all therapists and spa attendants on duty.
To be aware of all treatments, retail, and any promotions offered at any given time and help communicate to the team.
To maintain the professional stock at the correct level following set standards.
Ensure all cleaning and sterilizing procedures are in place and executed by all team members.
To use the correct quantities of products as specified by the manufacturer and not exceed that amount.
Must attend all training courses as deemed necessary by the Spa Director and help coordinate additional training for team members needs.
Responsible for keeping up the high standard of treatment and service.
To ensure the safety of users and equipment at the Spa and to receive training to ensure that all relevant legislation pertaining to the Health and Safety at Work Law and Health and Hygiene standards are implemented and monitored.
To provide courtesy to guests and other members of staff at all times.
To assist in regular inventory counts and audits
To always be punctual and prepared in advance of treatments.
To perform any other duties deemed reasonable by management.

PROFILE REQUIRED
Education
Massage certification required.
High school diploma required. Additional Beauty, Nutrition or Health education preferred.
At least 3 years of experience as a therapist in the luxury hospitality industry. More experience preferred

Job Requirements
The minimum qualifications for the Lead Spa Therapist position are:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must hold and maintain all current licenses and certifications that are required on a state and local level
• Possess a thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities
• Must be thoroughly educated and understands the physiological effects of the specific techniques utilized in order to determine whether such application is contraindicated and/or to determine the most beneficial techniques to apply to a given individual
• Possess a general understanding of body treatments
• Must have excellent customer service skills and a strong work ethic
• Must have excellent communication and listening skills
• Ability to lift 25 pounds
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury
• Must have the ability to work a varied schedule that may include nights, weekends and/or holidays
