The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a highly motivated, determined, well-spoken and experienced Director of Travel Industry Sales who understands the meaning of “hunting” to proudly sell our property.

As a Sales Manager, you’ll be primarily responsible for to identify, solicit and book upscale leisure business through the travel agency market.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Develop and maintain relationships with exclusive travel programs, such as American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts, Virtuoso and Signature Travel Network.
• Achieves or exceeds individual assigned sales and revenue goals
• Provide property representation and education to key agencies through direct sales calls, customer events and trade shows.
• To satisfactorily perform routine functions of the Director of Travel Industry Sales, including organizing and executing FAM trips; conducting site tours; traveling; designing and implementing sales action plans; maintaining business contacts; and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• The ability to assist in the annual operating plan
• To assist, as directed, to implement and upgrade sales computer programs.
• To participate in manager focus groups, hotel industry associations and to attend hotel functions, as directed.
• To develop and maintain a strong working relationship with representatives of travel agencies in key feeder markets to promote business.
• To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
• To represent and market Carneros Resort and Spa in a positive and professional manner and continually promote the Resort internally and externally by building relationships and attending special events both on and off property when requested.
• To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment at all times.
• To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
• To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing or Hotel Management, or equivalent experience required. English fluency required. Must have minimum five years’ experience in a Leisure Sales role with a proven track record of success in the luxury market. Requires a basic understanding of the operations of all departments in the resort. Must be skilled in accepted business presentation formats. Must be computer literate.
SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Demonstrated ability to train staff and insure luxury resort customer service. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be computer literate and have working knowledge of Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Delphi. Must possess a diplomatic and professional style. Detail oriented, organized and efficient. Safety-minded. High quality standards for production and service. Good team player. Customer service focus. Ability to work to meet deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works primarily indoors in temperature-controlled, clean, well-lighted office. Spends approximately 40% of work hours outdoors in all weather conditions, conducting customer tours, and interfacing with operations. Fast-paced position high level of responsibility for meeting revenue goals and deadlines. High level of interaction with all types of people and all hotel departments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands/walks approximately 50% of work hours. Sits at desk or in meetings approximately 50% of work hours. Heavy use of phones, daily. Uses personal computer approximately 85% of work hours. Must be able to travel approximately 6 to 12 weeks each year. Patience and tact required to accommodate customer needs, and resolve occasional difficult situations. Must be flexible to work long, sometimes irregular hours, to accommodate client schedules. Must be able to work well under pressure.
