Director Global Communications & PR

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Director of Global Communications & PR is responsible for global media relations, contacts, and cultivating relationships across top tier fashion and lifestyle media. This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create and manage seasonal PR strategies across all areas of the company
• Role of publicist for the brand, Creative Director and CEO
• Lead development of press strategy and create timelines surrounding product launches, collaborations, events, partnerships and store openings to build brand awareness, drive traffic and grow business
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure all key global product and brand focuses are effectively and efficiently communicated
• Write (or manage copywriter) editorial proposals, plans and national press releases
• Proactively seek opportunities to generate press coverage for the brand on both the national and international level
• Maintain senior media contacts in editorial, regional, short lead, broadcast and online/social media
• Manage seasonal collection preview press events
• Cultivate relationships with global magazine editors, celebrity stylists, and industry influencers to secure publicity
• Manage the global PR & Celebrity budget and creates annual budget guidelines for markets.
• Manage PR & Celebrity agencies for the company ensuring cost effective and impactful execution of the Global PR and Celebrity placement strategies
• Utilize and collaborate strongly with existing relationships of top tier celebrities /VIP, as well as with celebrity stylists and agents
• Ability to handle key dressing events such as movie premieres, awards shows and high visibility events
• Responsible for companywide media planning/buying strategy and execution, including management of the media agency
• Budget management and accountability for PR, Celebrity and Media
• Management of the Fashion Office and Company sample sets

• Adheres to all Company Policies & Procedures and Safety Regulations
• Adheres to local, state and federal laws
• Additional responsibilities assigned by supervisor related to your position/department
• Less than 20% travel may be required as necessary
• Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• This role will manage two direct reports

• Interacts with all levels throughout organization including employees and outside vendors.

Skills/Education/Experience:
• 10+ years of experience at an agency or in-house luxury brand
• Strong networks of stylist and direct talent relationships as well as talent representatives in music, film, art, and fashion
• Must have proven experience managing top-tier press for leading fashion luxury brand(s)
• Disposition and experience working with C-level on image building and press briefings
• Luxury and fashion obsessed
