Alterations Associate

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Alterations Associate is responsible for assisting the Sales Associate with Clients for measurement of merchandise that is to be altered, completing all alterations in a timely fashion and to St. John standards, as well as supporting management team as a representative of St. John.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers, and management team
• Demonstrates proper etiquette when communicating with internal and external clients (i.e. in-person, phone, e-mail, and written communication)
• Assist Clients by measuring and marking garments to indicate the number of inches to be shortened
• Processes garments received for Alterations daily
• Complete all alterations requested on alteration form
• Make sure rush garments are given priority and shipped out when due
• Press garments to accurate measurements as requested on alteration forms
• Hand weave garments that have been shortened from middle
• Repair holes in garments
• Reattach trims by hand crochet
• Data entry of Alteration forms into Alterations Log
• Files Alteration forms and maintains storage and discard
• Demonstrates high level of quality in work, attendance and appearance
• Actively participates in Monthly Touch Bases and follow-ups
• Attend all required Store Meetings
• Maintains standards of cleanliness and organization
• Adhere to Timekeeping procedures

• Additional responsibilities assigned by supervisor related to your position/department
• Less than 20% travel may be required as necessary
• Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary

Education/Experience:
• 5-10 years alterations experience on luxury brand merchandise
• Experience with knit alterations
• Crochet / weaving experience preferred
• Garment construction knowledge helpful
