Position Overview
Position: Part Time HR Coordinator
Location: Hyatt Centric Fisherman’s Wharf, 555 North Point Street, San Francisco, CA 94133
Hourly Rate: $20 per hour, including free breakfast & lunch at the hotel cafeteria
Work Schedule: 9am to 5pm, 8 hours per week on Tuesdays
Job Description & Qualifications:
Key responsibilities include:
HR Administration
1. Greets and assists employees, provides information and assistance to employees regarding worker’s compensation, leave of absence, and benefits programs.
2. Ensures that employee files are set up and maintained in accordance with company standards and government regulations.
3. Ensures all employees are complied with I-9 requirements. Maintain I-9 binders.
4. Manage employee area, such as lockers, HR bulletin boards etc. Making sure employee area is well maintained and updated.
5. Provide employment verification for current and formal employees.
Recruiting Support
1. Assists with screening employment applications, pre-screening candidates, setting up interviews.
2. Oversees the background screening process for new hires.
3. Coordinates new employee onboarding, ensuring a smooth, pleasant onboarding experience.
Employee Relations
1. Answers questions regarding basic interpretation of personnel policies and procedures.
2. Brings all sensitive employee relations matters to the attention of the Director of Human Resources.
3. Plans various employee relations’ activities, such as quarterly recognition reception, quarterly managers outing, annual awards party etc.
4. Recommends employee relations practices to promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
5. Assist with administration of associates’ opinion surveys.
Qualifications:
1. An average 3.75 GPA with a bachelor degree from a four year university. Proficient in Micro Soft Office Suite, especially good at Word, Excel & PowerPoint. Be able to design eye catching posters for employee activities.
2. Detail oriented, understand the confidentiality of the job, be able to keep sensitive information confidential.
3. Accountable, responsible and punctual.
4. Good organization skills, efficient, strong work ethic.
5. Have an interest in HR or hospitality industry, has the potential to develop.
6. Hotel or Office admin experience preferred.
7. Have to commit to work at least one day a week. Have to be able to work on Tuesdays.. Have to commit to stay on the job for a year.
