About This Opportunity:
We are currently looking for a Temporary Human Resource Manager – Special Events to join our team. This position will report directly to the Director of Human Resources. The HR Manager is responsible for providing support and guidance to crew members and managers as needed during Dark Harbor on a daily basis. Specifically, the HR Manager serves as the primary contact and resource for crew members and managers during Dark Harbor on Employee Relations, Performance Management, Coaching and Counseling, Recruiting, Legal Counseling, Onboarding/Offboarding, and Workers Compensation and Safety. In addition, this position assists the Director of Human Resources in assessing organizational needs, developing aligned human resource solutions and implementing strategies for the Dark Harbor event.

Our ideal candidate will have experience managing Human Resources as well as experience interacting with a full range of employees (hourly to senior level management).

Job Requirements:
Crew Member Relations (35% of the time)
• Works with crew members of all levels to resolve crew member issues by advising management regarding employment law and compliance, coordinating investigations and recommending the appropriate next steps and/or corrective action.
• Coaches supervisors and managers in managing crew member performance issues
• Advises managers and crew members on the interpretation of personnel policies
• Partners with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and laws
• Manages, assists in the development of, coordinates and implements various crew member relations programs and events to improve the crew member, guest, and committee relations
• Communicates with Assistant Director of Human Resources regarding new laws, procedures, liability concerns or other property business to keep him/her informed
Employee Lifecycle Management (10% of the time)
• Plans and manages the hiring and on-boarding processes to maintain staffing levels with qualified individuals.
• Communicates with managers and crew members to discuss career progression and coaching steps
• Coordinates the termination process including requesting final checks, scheduling exit interviews, and coordinating with managers to meet with employee
• Analyzes turnover analysis in order to make recommendations to departments based on identified trends
Recruiting (10% of the time)
• Maintains the recruitment website along side the HR Manager - Recruiting
• Works with hiring managers and Stewart to place job postings as needed
• Coordinates with department managers to anticipate and coordinate seasonal recruiting needs
HR Administration (15% of time)
• Works with Human Resources Coordinator to ensure that seasonal crew member files are set up and maintained in accordance with company standards and government regulations
• Provides information and assistance to crew members regarding personnel issues, policies, procedures, timeframes, forms, or other issues; responds to routine questions or issues; initiates problem resolution
• Performs various human resources functions as required for complete cross-training and cross-functioning of the Human Resources team, including but not limited to processing of new hires and status changes, benefits administration, workers compensation, safety, and other human resources functions
Training and Development (10% of time)
• Manages training for leaders and crew members including communication and tracking to ensure that all associates are receiving and completing necessary training
• Ensures all leaders complete mandated Sexual Harassment Training
• Provides necessary education and materials to managers and associates including Standard Operating Procedures,, crew member handbooks and standardized reports
• Training managers about recruiting tools, culture fit, and interview questions
• Identifies coaching trends to recommend training as appropriate

• Proactively manages safety and worker’s compensation programs
• Partners in the development and implementation of safety procedures, rules, regulations and loss control prevention programs for property in cooperation with company safety initiatives

• Manages claims and return to work
• Ensures reporting and documentation meets legal and company requirements

Preferred & Required Experience:
If you're an experienced, high energy human resource professional and a creative, innovative thinker, you just might be the candidate that we're looking for. In addition, the ideal candidate will meet the following requirements: We are looking for this position to start as soon as on a Monday - Friday schedule for the time being and then change their schedule nearer the production run.
• Ability to work nights and weekends. This position works all show nights from 12pm – 9pm each evening. One additional shift on Monday’s to update with HR Director.
• A minimum of 1-2 years of human resource experience, and one year or more of experience as a Human Resources Manager is preferred
• Bachelors degree in human resources or related area preferred
• Fluency in English is required
• Familiarity with Federal and California Employment Law
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and serve as an advisor and trusted confidant to the leadership team of the hotel
• Analytical skills with demonstrated ability to translate data to insight and then into action
• Aptitude to perform numerical analysis of data and formulate conclusions and solutions
• Strong computer skills including intermediate or above knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and directly
• Track record of working collaboratively with others to achieve desired results.
• Ability to use logic to define a problem, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret information for unique or unfamiliar situations
• Proven leadership and coaching skills with a track record of developing a highly motivated and cross trained group leaders
• Ability to effectively present information in one on one and group situations
• Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing skills
• Ability to comprehend and use technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office, HRIS system experience)
