We’re looking for a dynamic, and vibrant Human Resource Manager to join our team. This position will report directly to the General Manager. A high-profile position, Human Resource Manager is responsible for collaborating, partnering with and supporting the leadership team with the overall operation of the Human Resources Department to include, but not limited to, staffing, retention, training, benefits, administration, leave of absence administration, employee relations, discipline, terminations, and workers’ compensation. In addition, this position assists the Regional Director of Human Resources in assessing organizational needs, developing aligned human resource solutions and implementing strategies in the area of employee relations, compensation and benefits, recognition, day-today administration enhancing our already authentic culture!

Job Responsibilities:
Developing and protecting the culture of this great Hotel and management company is one of the most critical priorities for the position. This position is tailor-made for someone who is passionate about coaching the team, celebrating success, and fostering a culture that’s positive and engaging for our associates.

Our ideal candidate will have experience managing Human Resources as well as experience interacting with a full range of employees (hourly to senior level management).

• Collaborate with and provide guidance and assistance to the management team on all human resource issues including employee relations, recruiting, performance management, coaching and counseling, and legal requirements.
• Plan and manage the recruitment, interviewing, hiring and on-boarding processes to maintain staffing levels with qualified individuals.
• Assist with the department’s budget and ensures fiscal responsibility.
• Evaluate work procedures, review standards, identify methods for increasing efficiency or effectiveness, and respond proactively to any needs that have arisen.
• Work with employees of all levels to resolve employee relations issues by advising management regarding employment law and compliance, coordinating investigations and recommending the appropriate next steps and/or corrective action.
• Supports the local execution of corporate programs/communications that will impact our people
• Coach supervisors and managers in managing employee performance issues.

Job Requirements
If you’re an experienced, high energy human resource professional and a creative, innovative thinker, you just might be the candidate that we’re looking for. In addition, the ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• A minimum of 2-3 years of human resource , and one year or more of experience as a Human Resources Manager is preferred
• Bachelors degree in human resources or related area
• Familiarity with Federal and California Employment Law
• The ability to communicate clearly in Spanish is preferred
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and serve as an advisor and trusted confidant to the leadership team of the hotel
• Analytical skills with demonstrated ability to translate data to insight and then into action
• Aptitude to perform numerical analysis of data and formulate conclusions and solutions
• Strong computer skills including intermediate or above knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and directly.
• Track record of working collaboratively with others to achieve desired results.
• Ability to use logic to define a problem, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret information for unique or unfamiliar situations
• Proven leadership and coaching skills with a track record of developing a highly motivated and cross trained group leaders
• Ability to effectively present information in one on one and group situations
• Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing skills
• Ability to comprehend and use technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office, HRIS system experience)
