Silicon Valley's new boutique hotel, AC Hotel by Marriott Santa Clara is currently seeking a Public Area Attendant to be part of our opening team at our new property As Housekeeping Public Area Attendant, you play a big role in helping to make sure that the guest feels at home during his/her stay. You’re responsible for consistently providing a clean and well maintained public area for each of our guests before they arrive and during their visit and providing exceptional service.

Job Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of a Public Area Attendant:

  • Cleaning assigned public areas in accordance with Hotel standards
  • Replenishing amenities and supplies in assigned public areas as needed
  • Stocking and maintaining Housekeeping carts
  • Reporting any maintenance issues to supervisor immediately
  • Acknowledging and greeting all guests in corridors and all other public access areas
  • Answering questions about local area attractions and things to do
  • Cleaning the fitness center and pool areas and maintaining both with supplies and towels
  • Stocking all Housekeeping caddies (PM shift attendant)
  • Maintaining an up to date working knowledge of all property amenities as well as any special events
  • Demonstrating the Evolution Hospitality Values and Guiding Principles

Job Requirements

The minimum qualifications for the Public Area Attendant position are:

  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
  • Ability to move perform frequent and repetitive movements, including bending and stooping
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull a moderate weight frequently
  • Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head to perform cleaning tasks, and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to follow instructions, directions, and meet deadlines
  • Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as labels and instructions and basic guest requests
  • Understanding of hotel products and guest services
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy
  • Must have the ability to work a varied schedule that may include early morning , evening, night, and weekend shifts
  • Perform other duties as assigned
