The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a skilled Executive Director of Food & Beverage to lead the team at our beautiful Riviera Palm Springs resort. The area and responsibilities of the Executive Director of Food & Beverage encompasses an array of restaurants, bars, banquets and catering, In Room Dining, the culinary department, and pool areas – including well-known popular venues such as Café Palmetto, Gypsy Rose and the Chiki pool. Set on 24 acres, the legendary Riviera Palm Springs became a celebrity stomping ground on its 1959 opening — the Rat Pack and Elvis swung here. Its 400 up-to-date rooms compliment the dynamic settings to sip a cocktail at your pick of four watering holes, sample a steak at the on-site restaurant, try a Thai treatment in the 11,000-square-foot spa or get work done in the business center. The Riviera sits just a mile away from the infamous Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, less than three miles from Palm Springs International Airport and a short drive to various renowned area golf courses.

Job Responsibilities
The Executive Director of Food and Beverage is responsible for the overall strategy, execution, and marketing for all food and beverage for the resort. Ensuring lasting high quality product and experiences that are fresh, innovative and aligned with current industry trends. In addition, this position is charged with cultivating talent, consistently improving guest satisfaction, employee engagement, crafting an engaged employee environment by distinguishing the resort’s food and beverage outlets to be the “employer of choice” in the market; all while maximizing revenues and achieving results.
As the Executive Director of Food and Beverage, your primary duties will include:
Create an elevated food and beverage vibe at every turn while enhancing the Tribute brand and unique story, style and history of the resort.
Guide and direct the functions Food and Beverage Department to meet the daily needs of the operation
Develop and define the sequence of services for each outlet and expertise in the banquet and catering side of the business is a requirement.
Expertise in labor management in a proven fashion, working in concert with our service standards of execution.
Proven innovation in menu engineering, pricing and product development.
Propel profitability through proactive measures, manage operating costs, expenditures and labor, beverage controls, inventory and purchasing guidelines; monitor that all policies and practices are followed
Prepare annual budget for food and beverage discipline according to the specifications set forth by the General Manager with the assistance of the property Director of Finance
Ensure all areas of food and beverage are compliant with all local, state, and federal health and safety requirements
Design, implement and coordinate consistent service levels in all food and beverage outlets and continually monitor the service and quality to meet and exceed brand standards
Develop and implement marketing plan aligned with overall resort strategy, designed to captivate new and loyal clientele for all food and beverage
Develop and guide food and beverage leadership to execute to the highest standards with the daily operations of the discipline
Partner with Executive Chef in the creation of seasonal, fresh, innovative menus designed to cultivate increased business demand and interest
Foster positive community relationships through networking with local organizations, vendors and competitors 

Requirements
If you’re an experienced, high energy hotel professional and a creative, innovative thinker, you just might be the candidate that we’re looking for. In addition, the ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
A minimum of 3- 5 years of experience as a Director of Food and Beverage at a property of similar complexity and style, resort experiences and boutique life style experiences preferred.
Proven experience in menu engineering for all aspects of outlets and banquet and catering sales. Catering sales experience is required.
Extensive experience in restaurant bar, banquet, catering, in room dining, and culinary management required
Exceptional knowledge and experience with forecasting, budgeting, labor management, and purchasing to ensure maximum productivity
Ability to analyze, make projections and judgments to make the best decisions in support of the business goals
Ability to evaluate and critique food quality and presentations as well as service quality and presentations
Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing skills, computer skills and basic technological acumen
Ability to obtain any governmental required licenses or certificates (for example, Serve Safe certification or any other Food Handler’s permit required in the state, county, and/or city where employed)
Multiple language abilities preferred. Fluency in English required and Spanish desired
Ability to physically move about our vast resort property, including stairways, pool areas, and other inherent obstacles. May be required to sit, stand or move around for extended periods of time throughout the shift. May be required to lift, pull, push items up to 50 pounds as well as bend below waist or reach about shoulders repetitively
