We’re looking for a Lead Esthetician to join the team at our Carneros Resort and Spa.
As a Lead Esthetician, you will provide excellent skincare, facials, waxing and other supporting services to guests of Carneros Resort and Spa. To be a liaison between estheticians and spa management communicating issues relevant to the spa and hotel operation. To perform duties that enhance therapist productivity and improve the overall level of service in the esthetics department.
Job Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of a Lead Esthetician include:
• Communicate all requests, concerns and information regarding guest service issues, scheduling concerns, team member concerns or equipment maintenance issues to spa management. To follow up on these concerns as appropriate. To ensure all treatment equipment is in working order.
• Conduct an accurate monthly inventory of all treatment professional supplies on the last day of every month. Communicate any shortages to management for re-order.
• Continually improve upon established procedures, protocols and operational standards as a means of improving therapist productivity and guest service.
• To conduct monthly training of spa services with treatment staff ensuring all treatment staff is proficient in services offered by Carneros Resort and Spa. To conduct training as needed with spa receptionists and attendants.
• To coordinate treatment training with outside vendors and host them on site on training days.
• To ensure that treatment rooms are kept tidy, sanitary and stocked. To keep abreast of new state board regulations and ensure esthetics dept. complies with these regulations.
• To on-board new estheticians, providing a esthetician orientation and provide on-going coaching to ensure their success.
• To attend and contribute to weekly/ bi-weekly spa leadership meetings.
• To prepare and help maintain esthetician product supplies and communicate order requests as needed.
Key responsibilities of an Esthetician include:
• To perform all esthetics services including skin analysis, facials, waxing, and make up application following the established protocols, and allotted treatment times.
• To prescribe in written format home care products and treatment as appropriate.
• To up-sell treatments to guests as appropriate.
• To perform opening and closing checklists on a daily basis, replenishing supplies and cleaning equipment.
• To conserve and monitor supplies and assets of Carneros Resort and Spa and assist with the monthly inventory, merchandising and display of all retail products.
• To assist with special projects, events and promotions as needed and use available time to help with spa operations as requested.
• To consistently set and maintain the highest standards of personalized guest service, cleanliness and safety at all times while maintaining an enthusiastic and helpful attitude.
• To respond to guests’ concerns, suggestions or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• To maintain a working knowledge of all services and products, and recommend them to guests as appropriate.
• To attend all scheduled treatment and product knowledge training sessions and to assist in the training of other team members as directed.
• To represent and market Carneros Resort and Spa in a positive and professional manner as requested and continually promote the Spa internally and externally by attending special events when requested and building relationships both on and off property.
• To promote and comply with all policies and procedures of Evolution Hospitality.
• To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions and avoid injury to self and others.
• To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
• To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
Job Requirements
The minimum qualifications for the Esthetician position are:
• Must be a California licensed Esthetician or Cosmetologist
• Demonstrated knowledge of comprehensive professional skincare techniques required (applicants will be required to pass a practical exam before an offer of employment will be extended)
• Strong product knowledge of all ingredients, reactions, and their effects on all skin types
• 1-2 years experience in similar position in Spa or the Salon industry
• Must have the ability to communicate clearly and directly with guests using a positive, clear speaking voice
• Ability to participate in the creation of an enjoyable work environment
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy
• Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
