We are currently in search of friendly, energetic, highly-motivated Servers to join our opening restaurant team at Pacific Standard - a new bayside Little Italy restaurant. Embracing the local community’s passion for excellent dining, the upscale coastal kitchen will deliver California-inspired and market-driven fare. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities of a Restaurant Server include:
• Warmly greeting guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explaining all specials, promotions and food items on the menu
• Having a thorough understanding of service and timing standards and serve guests per these established standards
• Working in a team environment, assist other Servers/Team Members as needed
• Preparing room by setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils
• Taking orders, using a guest check/ticket
• Entering orders into the POS
• Answering questions about menu pricing, preparation, ingredients and plate presentation
• Memorizing and promoting daily specials
• Making food and beverage recommendations to guests as appropriate
• Ensuring the guest needs are met, including keeping beverages full, providing additional condiments and/or food items, and checking back with guests during their meal
• Perform responsible alcohol service per Evolution and brand standards
• Presenting accurate check in a timely manner
• Collecting payment and providing change in a timely manner
• Balancing end-of-day paperwork, including cash, credit card and due backs with minimal errors, overages or shortages
• Completing opening and closing side work
• Adhering to sanitation and safety standards
• Supporting other areas of the restaurant as necessary
• Assisting as needed with any training of new employees
• Maintaining a complete knowledge and understanding of menu items
• Continuously participating in all training and/or activities to further knowledge, understanding and mastery of products, services
• Reporting incidents of any nature to management (safety & security hazards, accidents, operational inconsistencies, etc.)
• Understanding and adhering to company policy with regards to Evolution standards as well as Federal, State & Local laws
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The ideal Restaurant Server candidate will have at least one year of restaurant server experience, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for delivering excellent service. The minimum qualifications for this position are:
• Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
• Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
• Possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
• Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends
• Ability to lift and transport up to 30 pounds on a consistent basis
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around during entire shift
• Must have the ability to communicate clearly and directly with guests using a positive, clear speaking voice
• Must have a valid alcohol awareness certification or be capable of obtaining certification
• Must have a valid Certified Food Handlers Card or be capable of obtaining one
