Description:
The Stanley Hotel located in beautiful Estes Park, CO is looking for a line cook. As a line cook, you’ll be part of a team responsible for producing high quality dishes in a quick and efficient manner.
Known for its old world charm, The Stanley Hotel boasts spectacular views in every direction and is less than six miles from Rocky Mountain National Park. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and member of Historic Hotels of America, the 202-room Stanley Hotel continues its rich tradition of offering the finest service and amenities in beautiful Estes Park, CO.
Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities of a Cook include:
• Preparing menu items according to standard
• Performing a variety of cooking techniques including, but not limited to, poaching, proper blanching procedures, roast, stir fry, deep fry, bake, boil, simmer flat top, grill and in bulk preparation sauté and grill
• Portioning food appropriately
• Performing knife skills including, but not limited to, julienne, medium dice, rough chop, chop herbs, Chiffonade, etc.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Covering breaks and assisting other kitchen areas during slow periods
• Ensuring that equipment in work area is clean and in proper working condition
• Operating a variety of kitchen equipment
• Stocking, dating, rotating and checking temperatures of product
• Observing and testing food to ensure proper quality methods such as tasting, smelling, or testing proper cooking temperature with thermometer
• Understanding and adhering to company policy with regards to The Stanley Hotel standards as well as Federal, State & Local laws

Job Requirements:
The ideal Cook candidate will have had 2 – 3 years of previous experience as a cook in a high-volume, hotel kitchen or restaurant. The minimum qualifications for this position are:
• Ability to stand, walk and move around during entire shift
• Ability to handle, carry and/or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
• Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division (needed in order to adjust recipes according to business levels)
• Ability to read, comprehend and write simple instructions and/or short correspondence and memos
• Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends
• Previous experience working in a hotel restaurant, banquet operation, or similar kitchen a plus!
