The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Housekeeping Houseman to join our team at our Carneros Resort and Spa property.

ESSENTIAL PURPOSE: To maintain the cleanliness, order, and safety of public areas, fixtures, and furnishings, and provide support services to other Housekeeping staff. To provide clean linens and remove soiled linens from cottages.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• To communicate all guest request to the housekeeping dispatcher or housekeeping manager in a timely and professional manner.
• To satisfactorily perform routine cleaning tasks in public areas, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting and glass cleaning
• To routinely clean ash urns, as directed
• To provide Room Attendants with all necessary room and cleaning supplies.
• To remove and handle, as directed, soiled linen and trash from cottages
• To perform support services in cottages as directed, including sweeping/mopping decks, carpet spotting, mattress turning, furniture moving, window washing, and detail/deep cleaning not normally performed by Room Attendants.
• To assist other Housekeeping staff, as directed, to complete their work
• To maintain cleanliness, order, and inventory of linen , cleaning supplies, and promptly report any deficiencies or problems to the Housekeeping Manager
• To handle, label, and store all hazardous substances according to state and federal regulations.
• To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions and avoid injury to self and others.
• To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment at all times.
• To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
• To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: Able to understand English, and to follow simple verbal instructions. Able to read and understand chemical labels. Previous hotel experience preferred.
SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Learns quickly, Safety minded. High quality standards for production and service. Courteous and friendly manner. Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Spends approximately equal amounts of time in/outdoor. Extensive facility. Indoors: works in temperature controlled, clean, and well-lighted offices, guest rooms, and public areas. Outdoors: May be exposed to weather conditions in unsheltered areas. May work on wet concrete and uneven floors. Moderate exposure to hazardous substances and fumes. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stand and walks moderate to long distances throughout shift. Routinely required to move objects up to 50 lbs. over moderate distances. Flexibility and good reflexes required, needs to operate electric cart. On occasion may be asked to move objects weight up to 250lbs over short distances, using appropriate hand trucks and carts.
IMPACT OF DECISION: Decisions directly impact the hotel ability to provide guest with attractive, clean and hygienic rooms. Poor decisions may result in guest dissatisfaction and loss the revenues, due to inefficient or improper work, unsafe work practices , or improperly handle customer service situations .
