The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Marketplace Supervisor to join our team at our Hotel Paseo, Palm Desert CA property.
As a Marketplace Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for greeting and serving guests in accordance with hotel standards for food and beverage quality while providing the highest level of service possible in an efficient, courteous and professional manner. The Bistro supervisor will also be responsible for overseeing the day to day activity of the Bistro server and Bistro food prep during their shift.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities of a Marketplace Supervisor include:
• Responsible for food quality control in the kitchen while making sure that food is being prepared to correct food specifications.
• Reviews all logs and checklists required by brand standards.
• Facilitate and organize banquets and ensure that food safety and sanitation standards are met.
• Taking food and beverage orders.
• Making certain food and beverage items at the counter.
• Retrieving and delivering beverages and food orders to guest tables according to hotel specifications.
• Entering all orders into the POS.
• Collecting payment and making change in a timely and courteous manner.
• Maintaining a clean and well organized work area.
• Restocking perishable and non-perishable items as necessitated by business demands.
• Checking expiration dates of products on a regular basis to ensure freshness of product.
• Filling out necessary paperwork at the end of each shift.
Other responsibilities of a Marketplace Supervisor can include:
• Monitors dish room and works dishwasher as needed.
• Receive and store food deliveries from vendors and organize store rooms.
• Be able to prep food menu items in accordance with brand food specification.
• Clean kitchen after service has ended.
• Assist with other duties assigned by the operations manager or GM.
Job Requirements
The ideal Marketplace Supervisor candidate will have at least one year of fast casual dining or customer service experience, exceptional communication skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for positive, upbeat individuals who have a passion for delivering excellent service.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
Ability to stand, walk and move around during entire shift.
Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money.
Food handlers certification or other equivalent required.
Responsible beverage service certification preferred.
Must have the ability to communicate clearly and directly with guests using a positive, clear speaking voice.
Must have the ability to work a varied schedule that may include early morning, evening, night, and weekend shifts.
