The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a full time Payroll Coordinator to join the team at our Hard Rock Hotel property.
Job summary
The Payroll Coordinator is an entry level position with great opportunity to gain knowledge in the payroll/accounting field. Responsibilities include but not limited to the process of bi-weekly payroll, monthly reconciliation of related general ledger accounts, and accounts receivable duties. Offers payroll support to managers and employees related to biweekly payroll, PTO, garnishments, employee verification, retroactive pay, tax questions, and other changes or other accounting related projects.
Summary of essential job functions
• Processes bi-weekly payroll for entire complex
• Ensures accurate daily labor reports
• Maintains the functionality and updates to the time and attendance system (Kronos)
• Aware of labor laws and does necessary research to be in the know
• Processes and audits all new hires, term checks, employee transfers, payroll allocations, manual checks and bonus payments
• Reviews garnishments are inputted and calculated accurately
• Ensures annual increases and minimum wage changes are processed and audited
• Reviews and issues annual W2’s
• Completes property compliance property reporting for employee breaks, overtime performance, etc
• Ensures general ledger accuracy for all payroll related accounts, month end closing, and additional accounting related tasks
• Ensures accurate upload of all payroll postings
• Confirms PTO balances are accurate and employees have sufficient hours to take
• Ensures all labor is hitting correct departments, and makes changes accordingly
• Prepares statements to wholesaler companies weekly
• Monitors overdue accounts, receives payments, and post amounts accordingly
• In acquisitions, trains all new managers in payroll processes and systems
• Promptly reconciles payroll-related general ledger accounts


Minimum requirement
•Accounting and or payroll related experience a must
• Experience in general ledger posting, analysis and reconciliation
•Aptitude for performing numerical analysis of data and formulating conclusions and/or solutions
•Ability to use logic to define a problem, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret information and deal with abstract variables for unique or unfamiliar situations
•Must possess strong oral and written communication skills so as to ensure successful relationships with property-based finance leaders and to conduct effective group meetings and presentations
•Ability to comprehend and use technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas
•Superior Computer skills in Microsoft Office, time and attendance systems, payroll processing platforms, and the ability to create, maintain and analyze data in Excel spreadsheets
•Ability to work a varied schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours, based on business needs
Skills / Ability to:
•Computer skills (Microsoft Office and strong Excel skills)
•Able to maintain a high level schedule and time management
•Multi-task in a high-traffic environment
•Perform numerical operations using basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing

Other Requirements and Characteristics:
•The work requires light physical exertion with long periods of sitting, occasional standing and walking; limited bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; occasional lifting/moving of items up to 25 pounds.
