SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Economic Development, the Economic Development Manager is responsible for business retention/expansion and business recruitment activities. Requires a minimum of 5 years of direct, “hands-on” business development and redevelopment experience within a municipal economic development organization in Texas. Must have solid credentials and significant experience in structuring “win/win” economic development agreements. Must have a documentable track record of working with Industrial, Commercial, and Retail clients to initiate, nurture, and close deals. A working knowledge of the brokerage community in the Dallas Metroplex as well as contacts at the Dallas Regional Chamber and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development would be very desirable.
Must be a highly motivated self-starter with excellent relationship building skills and a passion for providing exceptional customer service to both external and internal stakeholders.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree required with a major in Business, Urban Planning, Economics, Public Administration, or Civil Engineering. CEcD designation is a definite plus.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficiency in using multiple PC software packages including Microsoft Office Products is required with experience in using SalesForce a plus. Experience with SalesForce, Impact DataSource, Legistar, Buxton Analytics, Google Analytics, and CoStar is desirable but not required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, with a major in Business, Urban Planning, Economics, Public Administration, or Civil Engineering
• 5 years of direct business development and redevelopment experience within a municipal economic development organization in Texas
